I made it to Wisconsin in one long driving stretch. I didnt plan it that way. I thought I would find a place past Kentucky and sleep. But after I left Nashville (thanks again, Mo and Bill!), I just drove and drove. Since I could control the temperature (cold...as long as Im uncomfortable, Im awake), and the radio (loud), and the stops (only for gas, peeing and food on the run), I didnt actually get tired well past Chicago. By then I was almost home, so I kept going until a little after midnight, when I rolled into the driveway.
Yesterday I slept, and Marta and Dan came to Shawano to see me. (Thanks again!!)
Today my sister drove me around so I could do all of my holiday shopping. Nothing like waiting until the last moment, eh? But Im finished now and that feels good.
It started snowing today, which is pretty cool. So far the roads arent too slippery, but I want to get home before it gets dark, just in case.
Jeremy is fighting a cold, much like everyone over here. My throat hurts, but I havent had any other flu symptoms. My aunt, uncle, cousins and my grandma are all fighting colds.
Well, I wont blog again until Im in Minnesota this weekend. Happy Holidays!!!!!! Stay warm, enjoy your family and friends, and dont forget to be thankful for all the wonderful things in your life.
Much love.....more later.
