Im here, Im fine, and boy oh boy is it weird. In some ways, the patterns of life here are totally natural and in other ways they are totally foreign. Truthfully, I dont think I mentally prepared myself enough to be here. It was all about seeing Jeremy and not necessarily about the reality of living in Accra again. Its not bad, it will just take a little while to get back into the swing of things.
I got in fine, without any trouble. In fact, because the flight was so full, I got bumped to first class on the flight from Amsterdam to Ghana. If you've never flown it before, its a little bit of paradise. More on that in a later and longer blog.
It was 80 degrees when I got in last night, and hotter today. Just never get used to that heat.
But Im doing well, Jeremy is great, and I will write more on Monday when the internet cafe is open again. Take care, y'all.

I was having some problems getting on line this weekend, but today things are going smoothly. I could even check my email!
I packed my carry-on today, which of course, turned out to be much heavier than I wanted. I put all my breakables in there and after buying some gifty things in big bottles for Jeremy and myself, they bag soon turned into quite a load. Oh well. At least it has wheels and can turn into a backpack should I need it that way.
I went out to lunch with the Alzheimer's posse and it was nice to see everyone before I left. Unfortunately, Dave's car had a flat tire and it was raining. Argh! But he made quick work of it (as fast as the rain made quick work of straightening my curled hair) and all was well with the world. Tonight Kim and Paul and I are eating a free meal at Noodle, which for some reason my boss wanted to give us because they are letting me stay with them. Go figure.
My last three days will be full of seeing folks, one more Noodle shift, a few small errands and one load of laundry. Ive already packed both suitcases (weighing in nicely at around 60 pounds each) and sent nearly everything to storage that I dont need. Im ready to see Jeremy and go back to Ghana.
Im only about 98 hours away from landing in Accra.....so weird, but very nice. I've missed Jeremy sooooooo badly and it will be wonderful to spend some time with him again.
Time will go fast and soon we'll be living in an apartment again in Atlanta....and can hang out with friends and family again.
Take care everyone. I'll let y'all know that I got in okay. If I dont write before Thursday, BYE!!!
