Trivia was actually okay. In fact, it was really fun. There were a few suspenseful moments in the beginning, when we feared that no one else would show up. But two other folks from our previous team showed. Thats it. The four of us from the original nine. The rest of the folks suck. We took turns announcing, reading, correcting and revealing answers. I think we went a little too fast, but otherwise it went pretty smoothly. One of our categories was World Music. We had burned a cd with 15 songs from around the world. When the stereo finally worked, after song number two, the power went out. Very Ghanaian and very funny. It came back on in a few moments, and everyone had a good laugh. The team that lost to us by a half a point last week won this week. We enjoyed the free beer while hosting trivia, and then used our c200,000 gift certificate from last week with a bunch more drinks. Needless to say, we were pretty tanked when we got home. I thought I wasnt too bad until I tried to go to sleep. The room kept spinning, and I thought I would puke. Thankfully, I finally fell asleep without incident, but we didnt get out of bed until 11 am today.
Im having some computer problems today....let's see if this actually posts. If so, I'll include some of the questions we asked last night. Hold on....

Long time. Either the internet cafe has been down, too slow or I've been too lazy. Let's see. Last Thursday night we went to CHampps, this sort of touristy sports mexican bar with some friends. On a fluke, we joined a table to play Thursday night trivia, and won. The reward is a 200,000 cedi gift certificate. The bad thing is that you have to think of eight categories of trivia with 100 questions and host the following week. So since then I have been wracking my brain for suitable trivia questions and doing too many internet searches. Most of my ideas were at first, really American-centric. THat doesnt work when the majority of folks playing are either European, Canadian or Ghanaian. Everyone else on our team took off immediately after we won, so somehow we became the captains and need to spearhead the whole thing. Annoying, but somehow fun too.
Then on Friday, we got word that Auntie C's brother died and they would be having the funeral at the complex that weekend. So Saturday morning we took off for Kokrobite (the funeral would have been interesting, but it was right outside our house and it would have been SO LOUD all day long.) We had a relaxing day, good food, not too much sun and spend the night in a really cute bungalow. Sunday afternoon we returned to Accra and hung out with some friends.
Monday we developed some car problems (which hopefully will be fixed tomorrow.) Since then we've just been thinking about trivia, watching movies on the laptop, reading and putzing around. I'll be relieved when its all over tomorrow and someone else can worry about questions and points and whatnot.
Otherwise, Im okay. Feeling a little bit weird but otherwise fine. I'll try not to let so much time pass in between blogs.
