My grandmother would be so proud of me. Today I got down on my hands and knees and scrubbed the floors in the kitchen, dining room and bathroom. 100% gross, but it needed it, and we didnt have a mop. Then I did three "loads" of laundry (handwashed in a bucket in the shower room), swept the rest of the house, made the bed, cleaned the sink and toilet and shower, washed the dust off the furniture and cleaned every shelf and counter in the kitchen. Im exhausted. But damn, the house is clean!!!

Oh, no word on the job yet either. I'm reapplying to the Canadian Embassy and if Jeremy's computer remains in a working condition, I will peruse a CD-Rom of the Accra Business Directory to make some cold calls in the search for a vacancy and a business that hires foreigners for decent pay. I'll keep you posted.

Call guiness. Jeremy left this morning at 8 to meet Jon and go to Legon. I left before 10. Whooo hoooo.
Yoga was fun. Whenever I join a gym, I always take a yoga class. In every one I've taken, the instructor moves too quickly from pose to pose, or they do extensive backwork without the necessary caution. The attendees will always try to keep up with the instructor, no matter how much it hurts them. With back work especially, too much can cause major injury and thats not cool for someone who's supposed to know what they're doing and be teaching folks how to do it right. Susanna, from somewhere in Europe, was the best teacher I've had yet. She started out slowly, made sure we knew what she was doing before doing it ourselves and paid close attention to form. At one point she stopped us all because our backs were too curved and they n eeded to be straight. She modified the pose so it was a little easier for us and we could bend over with a straight back. There were a few poses I just couldnt do (Im not a pretzel) but all in all it was well worth the $5.25 I paid for it. They have a special deal where you can buy 10 passes at once and they come to 35,000 cedis each (just over $4), but I have to get a job first before I do that.
Jeremy's computer has been majorly freaking out lately, and then its fine, and then it freaks out. Its so frustrating because all of our stuff is on it. If the screen is dancing with multi-colored lines to the point where we cant even see the desktop, how are we suposed to retrieve our stuff? It worked this morning....hopefully it stays that way.
Again, its hot. I killed a few hundred ants this morning in the kitchen, and a cricket was stuck in our bathroom all night long. Last night while cleaning a mango, I found a big black spot and a dead spider-looking-beetle in it. And a few days ago, besides an avalanche of ants, there was a big ass cockroach near the kitchen window. Its like a bug zoo. We should charge admission.
Other than that, we're okay. We've both sunken into a weird funk that defies explanation or distraction. Hopefully that passes too.

Jeremy and I need to make a new decree that we have to leave the house before 9 am, lest the place becomes a vortex of self-loathing.
Its hot.
