There's this new aggressive ad campaign in MN and WI that cracks me up. Its by the Police Department and it stresses the need to wear seatbelts. Not because theyre good for you, or its safer to wear them, but purely based on the police enforcing the law and creating an environment of fear and paranoia. YOU WILL BE FOUND AND BUSTED!!! YOU CANT ESCAPE THE POLICE!!!! WE ARE EVERYWHERE AND WAITING TO PULL YOU OVER ANYTIME!!!! Love it.

Something strange happens to me when I come to WI. I start behaving in ways I cant explain. For example, I love pop music. Matchbox 20, I'll sing along. Beyonce', come on girl, let's dance! There's something about driving on long country roads listening to bad pop music that makes me completely happy.

Whew, life is crazy! Time moves so fast here. I cant believe it.
Im very grateful for having this month...there's no way I could have shifted from wide-open-no-schedule-nothing-to-do-all-day into living-by-a-calendar-needing-time-management-and-working reality. I need this time to reconfigure my brain and relearn how to keep track of schedules and dates and blocks of time.
I also need to buy a street map for the Cities. When I lived here, I didnt have a car very long, so I still dont understand how big chunks of this city connect up to other parts. I get lost all the time, and have neither a map or a cellphone to get my way out. I finally found my way home this morning after coming from Columbia Heights, and that felt good. I imagine I'll have to review the map when I get to Atlanta, too. Its just been too long to remember the short cuts and freeway circuits that run through the city. I'll get there.
Mike's doing okay. The infection is a tough one, so its taking time.
More soon...

Mad flurry of a weekend....back to Minnesota in the rain and cold.
