Today was my first day of library training. It went really well. Too much information, but that's true of every new job you have. Despite being in a very, VERY conservative county, the people at the library work hard to stay flexible and free and very focused on both change and customer service. I think Im really going to like it. Plus I met a girl who also lives in Decatur, who's doing an online Master's program from Texas that focuses on juvenile literature. Sounds perfect....how many kids books do I own? But everyone was nice and friendly and Im happy.
Jeremy leaves on Thursday for Ghana and that really sucks ass. Im in training all day, so I wont get to take him to the airport. I know that when I get home, and find the house empty except for a freaked out cat, Im just going to cry and cry. Seven weeks is going to feel like torture. I hate it. And I hate that I still havent gotten a computer. Had some major unexpected bills to pay this week, so I couldnt spend the dough on a PC. Maybe next week when Im not up in Gwinnett from 8 to 6 every day.
Congrats to Taylor, to Nancy and Josh, to Stacy and Chris. And congrats to Haley, too.
