I love my job, I LOVE my job, I LOVE MY JOB! Today I was in a really good mood despite all that's going on right now in my life. I spent the first half of the morning checking in holds that were tranferred from other branches. Then I checked my internal email and realized that I once again belong to the world that receives holiday pay. (Whoooo hoooo Veteran's Day!!!) Then I sat at the information desk and perused the catalog. In what seemed like minutes, my day was over.
Sometimes, as I sit at the desk, I look around and wonder if this is some sort of prank. Can I possibly be lucky enough to work in a place where I am surrounded by books? Where I am encouraged to read and take free classes? Where my co-workers are non-toxic and smart? Where I get to help people all day long? There are days that I just want to cry from the joy of it all. I tell you, what a long way I've come from the days of Alzheimer's Hell. Half the time, I think to myself, boy Im giving them a screwjob. They shouldnt even be paying me for this! This doesnt feel like work. And the funniest part is that even if they didn't pay me, I'd still want to go there. Who knew a job could be so pleasurable??
Since I've worked there, I've had two people ask me if Im 18 or 19 years old because Im so perky. No, I have to explain, Im just an enthusiastic 30 year old.
Working at the library has made me a better waitress, has made me a more patient and humble person, and has made me pretty darn happy. Hooray!!

Its a rainy day today, and im stuck working a double in decatur. I'd rather be home with the cat, watching movies and relaxing. Nope. And business is so slow, that time just creeeeeeps by. I hate it.
Jeremy is doing okay. He got a research assistant and met with the chief today, but its slow to find people to interview who actually know something about the topic he wants.
Otherwise Im fine. Working all the time, but fine.
More soon...
